Well hello there my fellow readers, after a few months I'm actually posting something! I wasn't actually going to until my easter holidays because I just don't get the time because of uni workload and working at the same time, it's just a tad bit difficult. But, since the rise of the modesty movement and all and Dina Torkia's collection has been released, it's just that everything that's happening at the moment, which I only just realised with this whole hijab modesty thing is actually quite huge, and I honestly do feel that it is a good thing and I feel like I've come to know more of the world and the people who are in it because of this, because all these years I was in my own small world in East London, and it's very nice to see all of this and even making friends with Muslim sisters across the world, whether they wear a hijab or not and in general making friends with people even if they aren't Muslim, it's refreshing and eye opening and it sounds cheesy, but it really does make me happy. I know that I'm one of MANY girls who wear hijab and have a blog (which I must say, is not the reason why I started my blog, because I only started wearing the hijab like 2 years ago, going onto 3, and I have always had the thought of starting a blog before I even started wearing the hijab), but I know for sure sooner or later or even now people are going to start saying things like 'oh, every hijabi is a blogger' or you know the general, that you can see coming up but I honestly don't really care, because I'm proud of those who are trying to actually make a statement to the world and I think we need it at this stage in life, but obviously in a positive and modest way, so... GO GIRL'S and BRING IT ON (whoever wants to bring it that is ;) ).
Now I've lost track of what I wanted to say, but here's my outfit from last week, which I was really excited about because of the Dina Torkia top and my most newest necklace from @hautehijab on instagram. I'm going to talk honestly, and when I got the top I was a bit disappointed but that was my own fault because I didn't read the description of what the material is, I just assumed from the look of it that it would be a thick sort of curtain-like material (I'm not sure if you guys understand), but I imagined it like a heavy, tapestry sort of material, but I think it's cotton or something like cotton, which is super light and creases easily, but other than that I love the print, which has a sort of african feel to it and the sleeves are literally these words: "ON POINT!" But, I had to use a belt to cinch the waist because the way it is made, is so that it is straight fitting and on me personally, it did not look nice, but everyone can always find a solution right? Also, the length of it was decent but because I cinched the waist, it automatically lifted it a bit, which I liked better because I'm not that tall (just under 5'5) and I knew that I could shorten it slightly and still keep it modest, because I didn't wear my tight jeans underneath, otherwise it would show too much of the shape of my legs, so I wore my 'Mom' jeans (which is the name of the style of jeans), which is good fitting because its not tight and neither too loose around the legs. Oh and the other reason why I bought this is because it's one of the cheapest things there ha ha, but I reaaaaalllyyyy loved the maxi skirts and the traditional indonesian prints, which at the moment I'm obsessed with because all the countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore specifically design things for modesty but it's just hard living in the UK and getting these things is pricey just because of shipping, but the products themselves are soooo cheap in comparison to things in the UK. Now, it's my dream to go to these countries just to go and buy the clothes lool but also meet people because they are all so sweet :)
Posing like a gangster (but really my hands were cold ha ha).
This is my new favourite necklace (for now) and it's sooooo stunning from @hautehijab on instagram and let me say now that you might think that it's really heavy but it's really not, but that might just be because of all my experience of wearing all sorts of necklaces, so I might be used to it, so maybe I might not be reliable on that ha haa. But, there's not much else I have to say or can say because you can just see how stunning it is.
This pictures just a bit funny but I wanted to just show my eye make-up, which isn't like any make up artist at all and I don't tend to experiment with my make-up, but this time I just used blue coloured everything on my eyes. Liquid liner is by loreal, kohl is from Topshop, which is the double-ended one, so one end is dark blue and the other end is light blue, I've also got the one with black and silver and the usual black voluminous mascara by Loreal (which I LOVE). The lip colour is very faint, but it's a lip pen by Kiko which is exactly like a felt tip and I'm warning you guys now that it DOES NOT want to come off and I've had my share of lip products that don't budge. but by far this is, you could either say the worst or the best depending on how you like it (I mean I still do).
My details are the usual a mix and match of rings and bangles/ bracelets, but the only new thing is I'm soooo in love with hand harnesses at the moment and you can find really nice ones from Asos, but majority of them are out of stock already, but I'm still keeping an eye out for them.
These shoes I've worn before on a previous blog post, with my jumpsuit but I'll say it anyways, it's from Zara but the last season :(
