Eid-Ul-Fitr 2015

Hi my dedicated readers! It has been a very long time and this post is obviously VERY late, nevertheless I am still very hard headed on putting this one up no matter how late, because for as long as I am blogging, I will always put up my Eid outfits. Now for my readers that aren't Muslim, no worries I will give you a quick explanation of what Eid is. We have 2 Eid's every year, and Eid is just known as a 'Muslim Festival' (in the most simplest terms), like Christmas is a Christian 'Festival' (it seems sooooo wrong to say Festival to a religious time of the year especially for Muslims, because it's not about partying at all lool), or like Holi for Hindu's, which is, I would say, more of a 'Festival' than Eid or Christmas (taking away the whole dressing up of the city with lights, the money spent on presents, but more so the actual religious aspect of it not the materialistic side of it.) If you don't know what Holi is just look it up on Google. So, the first Eid was this one for this blog post which is the 'celebration' for the end of Ramadan, where we fast for one month, so each day the fast starts at the start of the first prayer and then it ends at sunset, so just so you know, when we fast, it means no water, no gum and not even brushing your teeth just in case you take in the flavour (but I must admit I still brushed my teeth otherwise customers would have died), because I got this question a lot at work ("not even water?!), yes not even water :) (For more details, because there is way more to it than this, then go to Google). The second Eid (which is coming up at the end of September) is as Google says, and I quote: "the festival marking the culmination of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and commemorating the sacrifice of Abraham." For more information on it go to Google again.

By the way guys, if I have said anything wrong I honestly didn't mean to do so and feel free to correct me. Also, I really do not mean to offend anyone if I have said anything incorrect :)

So this was my outfit for Eid and what we usually do (i.e. my family) is buy material and then get it made by a tailor. There are all sorts of materials, fabrics, colours, patterns and prices! For me this is all very normal so to explain it, it seems a bit odd, but I know some of you guys probably don't know anything about this. Oh and I must say the tailor made it very well this time so thank you to him (which he won't see but I've told him already). The only thing I wanted different was the lining underneath the sleeves to be full length because the sleeves are meant to be see through, but as a person who wears hijab I can't be showing my whole arm off, but I'm okay with showing 3/4 but since this is MEANT to be full sleeves, it looks funny when you make it half, because it just looks better if you either make it without the lining at all or the lining completely in line with the sleeve, if you know what I mean, but that wasn't the tailors fault, it was just the matter of there not being enough lining, because it's used for the trousers underneath and wherever else it's needed :) But you can take an easier route and buy ready made clothes, but they tend to be quite pricey, for the decent looking ones, but even tacky ones are expensive these days. (wooo explanation over so enjoy!).

Jewellery is bought from indian stores, except for 2 of them which is from New Look and Asos.

Thank you for reading people! Next up will be Mayfield Lavender Farm, so be sure to check it out!
